WORKCAMPS IN BELGIUM
Oikos organises in 2010 international workcamps in Belgium in cooperation with the association SVI (Service Volontaire International). SVI is a non-governmental and non-profit organisation that has been created in 2004 promoting volunteering experience, international solidarity especially between youngers. The hosting organisation for the projects in 2010 will be "Asinerie de l'O", a non-profit farm with social and educational projects.
GENERAL INFORMATION
The projects are open to the volunteers over 18 years old from all over the world.
All the travel costs are carried by the volunteers.
The languages of the workcamps are English and French.
The participation fee that includes the annual adheration fee of Oikos is 170,00 euros and has to be paid by a bank transfer destinated to the cultural association Oikos at the moment of the application.

SVIB01 30.05 - 20.06.2010 Habay-La-Vieille Disabled / Environment SVIB02 01.08 - 22.08.2010 Habay-La-Vieille Disabled / Environment LOCATION: The workcamps will take place in the small village of Habay-La-Vieille in the south of Belgium near the biggest Belgian forest. "Asinerie de l'O" is surrounded by fields, river and forest and counts 26 donkeys and 6 horses.
WORK: In June: Support of vulnerable people (adults and children).
In August: Different works with donkeys and people between 4 and 18 years old. The activities to develop can be various (artistic, musical, etc.).
The volunteers will also work the land and plant vegetables together with vulnerable people.
Both activities will be mixed or separated accordoing to the volunteers' wishes and abilities.LEISURE: Cinema, horse or mountaind bike ride, walk. In the area there is a swimming pool, a library, shops. The volunteers could visit castles and lakes, the forest, Luxembourg city, Orval Abbey.
ACCOMMODATION: The will be 2 possibilities depending on the volunteers's preferences: housing in a family home or campimg in fields near the "Asinerie".
